Setup and Access to Google Analytics

WHAT IS GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Google Analytics GA4 is a powerful tool that provides valuable insights into website traffic, user behaviour, and performance metrics. It helps businesses understand how users interact with their website, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize their online presence. For small businesses, Google Analytics GA4 is essential for tracking website performance, understanding customer preferences, and maximizing the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts.

Step 1: FIRST TIME GOOGLE ANALYTICS SETUP

If you’ve never used Google Analytics before, you’ll need to sign up for Google Analytics and provide your business and website details to Google. Follow the instructions in this link https://www.semrush.com/blog/how-to-set-up-google-analytics/ to:

1. Create a GA4 Account
2. Create a GA4 Property
3. Provide Your Business Details
4. Provide Your Business Objectives (Select “Get baseline reports” only as your business objective for now)
5. Create a Data Stream
6. You do not need to complete the steps in the section “Install GA4 on Your Website”; we can do that for you. However, please provide Digital Creative with access to Google Analytics (see next section)

Step 2: GRANTING AGENCY ACCESS TO GOOGLE ANALYTICS

1. Sign in to Google Analytics at analytics.google.com
2. Click Admin at the bottom of the left-hand menu, and navigate to the property settings.
3. Under Property, click ‘Property Access Management’.
4. In the Account permissions list, click +, then click ‘Add users’.
5. Use [email protected] as the email address and choose “Administrator” access
6. Select ‘Add’
7. We will then receive an email that we have been added to your website’s Google Analytics property.
